Cady McClain speaks out about the folks that are hurting her feelings on her Facebook page as they are writing negative comments about her and her current character and story-line on the Young and the Restless.  She talks of the hurt and pain she is feeling and she is asking people to remember that she is a real person with real feelings.

It was brought to The Daily Banner’s attention that actress Cady McClain is broken hearted over some posts she is reading about not only the character she is playing on The Young and the Restless but the fact that she is being tagged with this nasty comments.  Whether or not folks realize it, if they tag someone on Facebook, that person they have tagged will see that comment.  Cady has never used a PR firm and she is very hands on with her Facebook friends, fans and followers and she takes these things to heart.

The lunch crew at the Daily Banner has loved Cady since she was Dixie Cooney on “All My Children.” Cady is a phenomenal actress so seeing her feelings hurt this way don’t make the lunch crew happy campers.  Cady is a feisty lovely woman who has basically grown up in front of the camera.  She is married in real life to John Lindstrom who plays Dr. Kevin Collins (Doc) on General Hospital.

People have to remember that actors are actors and not the characters they portray.  Acting is an art but it is also a job and acting is what actors and actresses do for a living.  The Daily Banner feels ridiculous having to reiterate this but it seems that many people get so wrapped up in these stories and the characters that they forget that these actors have their own lives and are not the characters they portray.  Viewers should keep in mind that they just don’t know whether or not that actor or actress will be seeing what they are saying and a little kindness for these folks that work 60 or more hours a week to bring you your stories should be given more consideration than some get.

This is what Cady posted on her Facebook page today.  When you are done reading that, check out the interview she did on the red carpet at the 42 Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.

Cady McClain – I’ll Tell You What

“I’ll tell you what. I’m going to level with you. It’s been a very hard few weeks. A LOT has been going on. When the time comes to talk more about it, I will. I promise.

Right now all I can say is it’s about to get really, really intense on the air shows. And it’s worth watching. It’s like nothing I’ve ever acted or been involved with story-wise before.

I totally understand that the character of “Kelly” drives some people crazy. But please remember, I am just the actress.

I’m glad to occasionally be given the opportunity to entertain you, whether it’s on Y&R or elsewhere. And if you love the character or hate her, it’s all good. Maybe just don’t tag me when you hate on her, please, because my work means something to me. I hold the characters I get to create close to my heart. Maybe that’s “over-sensitive” of me but I don’t know how else to be without turning into a hard woman. And I’m already tougher than I want to be.

Daytime TV has been very, very good to me and I am so grateful for everything it’s given me. And daytime fans have been beyond amazing. I can always count on you.

As for comments and stuff: it’s a free country. I don’t want to tell you how to feel or try and control how you act on social media, but please try and remember I’m a real, live, human being on the other end of some of those unfriendly comments. That’s all. Just please try and remember that. Because I do. I know you’re all real, live human beings. That’s why I have never passed on my social media to a company or even a PR person. It’s always me. Always. Maybe that’s foolish but I enjoy the connection. If there’s one thing I understand, its loneliness.

Believe it or not, I really do.

I don’t wanna lie to you about anything but I also don’t want to jump the shark and ruin a cool story-line. So it’s best I don’t say anything until you see it for yourselves and make up your own mind about what it means.

As for me, the actor, the person who plays “Kelly,” I feel like I have a broken heart. Is that because I’m too close to “Kelly” or too close to my work? Do I care too much? Maybe. Probably. I don’t know. But I guess I’m just that kind of actor.

And that’s all I can say.”

Our Special project

Before we go we wanted to share our special project with you.  If you have a minute, please read below. This little boy will pull at your heartstrings.

Super Storm Sandy didn’t just change lives up North.  The aftermath of that storm caused a huge branch to snap in the playground of a day care where this precious little 2 year old boy was playing.  That little boy’s name is Tripp Halstead.  That branch caused traumatic brain injury as it literally crushed a large section of Tripp’s skull which damaged his brain.

The doctors really didn’t think he would survive but he did.  After 6 months, and to date, 16 surgeries, this little boy is now 4 years old and growing, trying to talk, smiling and moving his arms and legs.  He is featured in my new book, “The Traveling Jalapeno’s Meet Tripp Halstead,” which will be available on Amazon soon.  I have written a song that offers hope and inspiration that where there is life, there can be a miracle.  Tripp inspired the song and it is called, “The Little Boy That Could – Tripp’s Song.”  That song is being released on iTunes on April 28, 2015.  1/2 the proceeds from downloads are being donated to Tripp for his nursing care that insurance does not cover.  Help us get this song to #1 on iTunes next week when it is released by downloading it immediately.  For a sneak peek/listen to the song, see the YouTube promo.

    1. Well I am one of the fans that don’t like Kelly on Y&R as for the person herself I think she’s a good actress but on the show I don’t like what’s she doing to Jack and Phyllis and yeah maybe I take the soaps to much to heart but when you watch something for forty three years it’s almost like your family. And someone mess with family they mess with you.
