Rory Feek says final goodbye to Joey

Joey Feek passed away on March 4, 2016 after a 2 year battle with cancer. She made the choice to do hospice at a temporary home surrounded by friends and family in her hometown of Alexandria. The folks of Alexandria, Indiana were very fond of Joey and they all rallied around the Martin and Feek family during this hard time.  The local pizzeria gave them free pizza and a concerned neighbor gave them a house with a picture window to live in while Joey spent her last few months making final memories with her family.

Last week in Tennessee, Joey was remembered in a wonderful ceremony in her barn where she and Rory used to have their house concerts.  After the celebration of her life, the attendees accompanied Joey and her cowboys to the small family cemetery out behind the barn.  Rory’s mother is buried there and Rory plans to be buried there also when his time comes.

The weather cooperated and it was a beautiful day for all the local Tennessee family and friends to say their goodbyes to Miss Joey.
