The General Hospital Memorial for Ava at Ryan’s Bar was in full swing today and there was not a dry eye in the house. Delia Ryan’s portrayed by fan favorite Ilene Kristen has a beautiful voice and at the end of the memorial she sang “Oh Danny Boy,” to her granddaughter and you could just feel the tears flowing around the country.
Ilene Kristen played Delia Reed Ryan for years on Ryan’s Hope and with that character and her being Ava Jerome’s birth-mother really brings a layer of continuity to the make believe of soap land.
Ilene Kristen played Roxy on the now defunct soap opera, “One Life to Live,” up until its demise and she does have a fan following and is much loved on ABC. As Roxy she was very ditzy, and believe it or not, she is less ditzy as Delia Reed Ryan.
The producer/direct did a great job shooting this scene as they panned through many of the characters lives and ended the song with baby Avery falling asleep to her grandmothers voice. There was not a dry eye in the lunchroom at The Daily Banner.
The Daily Banner would like to know what you thought about today’s episode of GH but most especially the scene with Delia singing to baby Avery and then Ava showing up at the end of the episode? Please share your thoughts right here at The Daily Banner with other TDB readers. The crew at The Daily Banner might just talk about some of your responses in the lunch room.
