The sun does indeed arise every single day and apparently at night too

When I first put this on to start the review I was reading the liner notes and thought to myself that this is going to be just another jazz album. The first six songs

“Get it Together”

The CD starts out with a rather jumping little tune. Yes “Get It Together” is a little jazzy but it’s one of those near perfect pop sounds that would fit nicely on a sound track. I like the way it starts the CD with a nice up-tempo sound.

 “The Meaning of You”

This song “The Meaning of You” brings in a heavier jazz sound. Being from the Chicago area years ago, I can imagine being in a nice club with a Chiquita on my arm and a smoky haze in the night air as we gaze into one another’s eyes. Damn good stuff here.

“Secret Voices”

I have to say that as I listen to this CD I find that I like each song better than the previous one. “Secret Voices” has a combo feel like as if Carlos Santana was bitten by the jazz bug while on tour in South America. You’ll get it when you listen.

 “A Better Day”

If there is such a thing as oriental fusion jazz this would be it. “It’s A Better Day” certainly makes you look forward to what’s going to happen. The song while up-tempo is also lilting and laid back. This is a very well crafted tune.

“Jacaranda”

As I listened to the song “Jacaranda”, I felt like I was being pulled into it. It stands well alone but feels like it would be great in a suspense movie. There is some simply fantastic guitar picking on here. The suspense is oozing from this one and is mesmerizing.

“Sueños”

This is one of the songs with lyric and vocals on it. It has a longing sense to it. I can’t understand what he is singing, but that doesn’t stop me from feeling it. “Sueños” by the way translates into the word Dreams and that makes total sense.

“Endless Journey”

“Endless Journey” starts as a slow yet moving song and then builds into something that is a nicely complex music scope of sounds that toy with your aural senses causing you to fade in and out of what is going on. Sort of like the journey of life like the tide with its ebb and flow.

“Reborn”

The song “Reborn” kind of makes you feel that no matter what, things start over and you’ll be alright.  You hear and feel the ups and downs as the song progresses along.

“Are You Ready?”

To me, “Are You Ready” is the most fusion jazzed song on the CD. It has some great work on all the instruments and they seem to melt together as it moves and grooves onward.

“Change”

Here is one song that is definite jazz. Not just jazz, but close to real jazz with a little scit-scat added for good measure. This is another one that would fit in a smoky jazz club in Chi Town. “Change” can be a good thing.

“Us”

This piece is simply called “Us” and would absolutely make a great song for a soundtrack. It builds you up after starting you off with a tenseness that only music or real life pain can invoke.

“It’s All We Know”

Break out the Cerveza and Tequila guys and gals, and be ready to have a nice Spanish siesta after watching the flamingo dancer. This is one of my favorites on the album. “It’s All We Know” is definitely a stand out song for this music critic.

Lastly, do yourself a favor. When this is released in December add it to your playlist and collection. I think that a great treasure has been discovered in Israel and it is named Pablo Embon. There is not a bad song or filler tune on the album Sunrises Every Night, so get ahead of the curve and buy it. This album is a 5 Star musical experience with a cherry on top.
