Just like many of you, we were sitting on the fence about whether or not to get the Covid-19 vaccination.  We started a list of pro’s and cons. We started doing research and this is what happened next. Read on for more about our Decision to vaccinate or not to vaccinate. Fast Vaccination – Not so much

We all heard about how fast this vaccination was created.  The facts are that the platform, foundation, the bones of this vaccination have been around a long time.  What the scientists needed to do is just top it off to fit this virus.  When I discovered that through research, I felt much better about taking it.

Oncologist referral

Even after researching the fact that the vaccination was not an overnight creation, I was still fence sitting.  My husband had his 6 month Cancer screening. We put on our masks and headed to his oncologist’s office.  We consulted with his oncologist who has literally saved his life.  He helped my husband beat cancer. We are over 3 years out now from last chemo and radiation and his prognosis is excellent.  So we trust this man with our lives.  He advised both of us to get the vaccine. He then informed us that he also got the vaccine (Pfizer).  if this vaccine is good enough for an oncologist, it is certainly good enough for us.

Freezers for Covid-19 vaccine

The oncologist also informed us that the freezers that store the Covid-19 vaccine cost 80 thousand dollars.  A lot of facilities could not afford to buy extra freezers so that has been part of the reason vaccines weren’t as readily handy available.  He also told us the J&J one shot will not need the freezers.  That J&J is a good second choice for places that don’t have the freezers. He would prefer his patients get the Pfizer and Moderna as they offer more protection.

Destination Vaccine

My husband got his first vaccine a few weeks ago. His only side effect was a sore arm.  Everyone’s arms should get sore as the vaccine is injected right into the muscle of the arm.  He gets his 2nd dose on April 13th.  He received the Moderna. I too will get the Moderna injection tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.
