Maybe

Everybody needs to take a listen to Makenzie’s song “Maybe.” We talked about how “Mabye,” came about.  Makenzie’s Mom heard the song and thought that her daughter could add her touches and record the tune.  That’s exactly what she did.  Take a listen to the end result.

The Beginning

We spoke about Makenzie’s beginnings.  She revealed that she started singing at the age of 4.  At 10 she learned to play piano and guitar when she was 14.  Further, she has a very supportive family and a special love she named Raven.  That is to say, Raven is her jet black cat that has the most remarkable white patch of fur shaped like a heart on her belly. To clarify, the cat has a big white heart on her stomach.  I can attest to this as I saw the cats belly. At some point we will have to encourage Makenzie to get a picture of this heart shaped patch of white hair. It is as unique as Makenzie and her music.

Rimes and Krauss

Makenzie’s vocal styling falls somewhere between LeeAnn Rimes and Alison Krauss but it  is most  distinctly  her own. Above all, her voice is something that you have to hear. It is as soulful as it is country twang.  She is currently working on an EP (6 songs) that I informed her I hope is out sooner than later. She currently resides in Virginia but is attending her 1st Country Radio Seminar in 2 weeks in Nashville.

After College

Certainly the plan for Miss Phipps is to graduate college in December 2022 and after that point make a move to Tennessee. She doesn’t see herself living in Nashville proper as she is a country girl at heart. However, she can definitely see herself as a Tennessee girl.
