We sat down to talk with Marlon Hargis and boy what a fun interview it turned out to be. We had to divide it up into three (3) parts.  Part 1 we get to know each other.  We talk about the weather and goof off a bit.  We talk about raking the leaves and who lives where.  Sometimes you interview someone and feel like you know them. GRAND OLE OPRY

There talking points by their PR said they debuted at the Opry in 2008. Well the truth is that they were on the Opry in the 1980’s but it was a train wreck.  They joke that it took 30 years for them to get invited back there so it felt like the first time.  Since then they have played there many times and they love playing there. The Opry is like a family and everyone is always so nice to them. They really liked Little Jimmie Dickens. They also were on the TV Show Hee Haw.

PART 1

Growing up in the Country

We talked about living off the land and surviving off the grid.  We also talked about having a real appreciation for nature growing up and living on a farm. That is Part 1 of the interview and it will slide right into Part 2. In the beginning of Part 2 we talk more about country living and Marlon grabs himself some water.

Covid losses

Exile did not lose any band mates or relatives of band mates due to Covid.   Marlon reflects on how happy and blessed they are to have not lost anyone. We talked about people we lost indirectly because of Covid but he is very hopeful that things are getting better.  He talks about the crowd reactions on  happy the crowds are to see them. Exile is still very careful so they don’t get sick and don’t make anyone else sick. We talk about insurance companies, venue policies and more.  We also point out that where bands plays are not the bands choices where they are playing.  Bands have to get invited to play venues in order for them to be at those venues.
