YOU GOTTA JUMP IN
Gary Pratt is one of those musical surprises that came across my desk over the weekend. Unfortunately these days though, it doesn’t happen quite often enough. The intro while a little long for today’s market is well done. It builds up as it goes instead of starting and rolling along like a steamroller. It adds up and carries on. Read on for Gary Pratt’s “You Gotta Jump In” song review by Dashal Jennings.
TIPPING THE COWBOY HAT
Gary Pratt’s “You Gotta Jump In” song review by Dashal Jennings
As far as songs go, “You Gotta Jump In” is likely the most well balanced song I have heard in a while. It is well mixed and the producer and engineer paid close attention to the stereo spectrum. There is breathing room left for every instrument and sound. Rather than cramming everything in there and hard panning everything, thought appears to have been given as to what belongs where. SO a huge tip of the cowboy hat to a song that does what it does so well.
RIGHT IN LINE WITH NASHVILLE
Given the fact that I hear so many songs in a day, it is refreshing to have my ears able to enjoy a song and the way it is put together with song care. This stands up well in the production factor with the top stuff coming out of Nashville today and even beats some of them.
UNIQUE VOICE
I found the vocals, while perhaps not the stuff of top 40 country radio quite distinct and individual. It is quite listenable and has an enjoyable feel. In short, a singer that sounds different from everyone else. You know, even though Willie Nelson is a great song writer, not everyone likes his voice. But when you hear it you know who it is.
IN CONCLUSION
Gary Pratt’s “You Gotta Jump In” song review by Dashal Jennings
While not every song gets the attention to detail from start to finish that they deserve, this is one of the ones that is a winner and deserves a spot on your playlist. Kudos to the artist and production team for a job well done. Bookmark Gary’s website at: https://www.garyprattmusic.com/home
