General Hospital exit shocker is that Tony Geary is done with General Hospital. In his interview with TV Insider, he says, “He does not want to die in a heap on the floor of the set of General Hospital.” Wow, that is pretty telling to how worn out he is and has been for quite a while. The character he plays, the much loved but very confusing Luke Spencer just gave a performance of a lifetime and Geary does not think there is anywhere to go from there. He actually made the decision to leave the show last January.
He put his house on the market in LA and he is truly going back to Amsterdam and does not plan on coming back that is for the foreseeable future. GH has told him he is always welcome back.
It is a shocker to finally hear the confirmation from Geary himself but not so much a shocker because all the viewers knew that until this D.I.D. storyline, Geary was spending less and less time in LA and more time in Amsterdam.

I certainly don’t begrudge Mr. Geary a chance to enjoy retirement. That being said, he has been the backbone of GH for years, and will be sorely missed. He has taken a shady character and made him into who he is today – THE Luke Spencer! No one will ever be able to portray Luke like he has, and I actually feel sorry for the writers – there is NO WAY everyone will be happy with the ending. But I wish him the very, very best in his retirement -and thank him for the last 37 years!!
I’m sorry to see him go i heard that laura will be coming back to genral hospital i hope when they wrap up his story line thst it involves the two of them and their children i hope that they bring lucky and lukes othet son Ethan. Back to say goodbye to him it will be hard on lulu but i think she will move forward im hoping that het three brothers and her husband cousins and her mom and aunt will get her through it all
I would like to wish him all the luck. Eventhough I hate to see him go. He will be truely missed.
Well, every good thing must come to an end. We all knew that he would retire someday.
As a 38 year veteran fan, I remember him from the beginning. I have been watching GH and have enjoyed the ride. I hope they provide him with a good send off. Something that will provide us with endless memories as A.G.’s acting always has.
The writers left him no choice. There was no resurecction for his character. I know he wanted to retire its just sad how they ended it. I think now they should have Laura come into the picture and either take him to a facility in Europe or be there by him if he passes. Try to bring back a little bit of his glory days. Like I said before GH does this with a lot of their characters they write these outrageous storylines with murder and kidnappings etc n then they have to find a way to keep them out of Pentonville! Lol Diane n Alexis can only do so much.
Like a lot of young women, we fell in love with the character, Luke Spence. Maybe we want to help bad boys turn good..
Tony Geary to me, is the cream of the crop. He has done so much to make GH better. He will be missed. I don’t know if they intend to kill him off or let him ride off in the sunset. Is that the reason Genie Francis is coming back? I hope she isn’t coming back for his funeral. I guess people come back to life now and then. Even when they have autopsies. Anyway. He is loved, cherished and respected for how he portrayed Luke Spencer. Well done, Tony, well done! Forever fan.
