Joey and Rory living in the moment

Joey and Rory are living in the moment.  They do that today by honoring their daughter Indiana and share her birth video 21 months ago.  Joey’s wish is to live long enough to see her baby turn two (2) years old on February 17, 2016.

Cancer diagnosis

Joey Feek was diagnosed with cervical shortly after the birth of her daughter.  She underwent a radical hysterectomy and a year later the cancer returned with a vengeance.  They traveled to Chicago to the Cancer Center Treatment of America where a treatment plan was created.  She continued her treatment in Georgia at the Cancer Treatment Center of America there.

A very personal decision

The Feeks elected to stop treatment when they were told that current treatments were not helping.  Joey wanted to spend what time she had left with her family and not at doctors’ offices and hospitals dealing with side effects.  The Feeks are currently staying at Joey’s parent’s house in the state of Indiana in the home she grew up in.  Her sister is a nurse so her sister is handling her nursing care.  She is surrounded by love and caring people and has made peace with where she is going.  All she wants is a little more time to see one more Christmas and one more of her baby’s birthdays.

The Birth of Indiana
