THE CHRISTMAS SONG

Yes it is the season. Here Lady Redneck does her version of the classic “The Christmas Song”. Now you might think from her name that this is going to be a funny or very country take on an old Christmas tune. And if that is what you are thinking then you are going to be somewhat shocked to listen to what is a very heartfelt rendition of the old Nat King Cole song that was written by Mel Torme way back in 1946.

Lady Redneck with “The Christmas Song” as reviewed by music critic Dashal Jennings

There is nothing better that a nice piano and pretty voice combining to bring a classic song to life. What you have is the best things in life combining to bring the emotion out of the song. You can almost feel the snowflakes falling on your face as you listen to Lady Redneck croon “The Christmas Song”.

Some may get sadness from her manipulation of her voice but later you will be hearing joy from the same place. It is not an easy feat to pull off those heart tugs with just a piano and a vocal but Lady Redneck manages to do just that.  The song will drop to Spotify on December 16th, 2022.

Production

The producer and the engineer have a lot to do with this working well and often don’t get the kudos that they deserve so I am calling them out here for a job well done. When you have loads of instruments layered on a song you can make it so dense that no one can hear every detail. It is, however much harder to take two things and make them complement each other.

In Conclusion

The fact that Lady Redneck has an amazing voice and the piano player knew what to do to enhance that makes the listening of “The Christmas Song” something that may well become a tradition around this house.  This music critic gives Lady Redneck a 5 out of 5 stars for her rendition of this song.
