Sonny is not Michael’s Father

This isn’t the first time Michael has gone to war with Sonny and it probably won’t be the last. Let’s start this piece by claiming once and for all, Sonny is NOT actually Michael’s father.  His adoption was concocted, forced by duress so it should be over turned. Michael is a Quartermaine.  Michael was created by the characters A.J. and Carly. Technically Sonny has only been Michael’s step father although we were always forced to believe that the bogus adoption was up held. To this writer, Sonny has always been Michaels step-father.  Read on for Michael thinks he is going to out do Sonny on General Hospital.

Sonny’s children

Sonny had a child with Olivia when they were both really young. That child was Dante.  The only other natural son Sonny has was Morgan with Carly.  Sonny’s daughter’s are Christina, Avery and Donna. As a boy, Michael was literally the red headed step child.  We are not saying that Sonny didn’t love Michael. Sonny loved Michael as much as his other children. In fact, Michael was the first child that Sonny ever helped raise.  Sonny didn’t even know about Dante until Dante was an adult.  We don’t know if you remember this but Sonny SHOT DANTE when Dante was new to Port Charles. We believe that was a May Sweeps that year.

The Fight for Avery

This isn’t the first time Sonny and Michael went nose to nose.  When Michael found out that Sonny forced AJ into signing over his rights to Sonny, Michael retaliated by taking Avery away from Sonny. When Michael thought he had punished Sonny enough and the story line wore thin, Michael gave Avery back to Sonny.  The viewers at the time thought the turn around after so much venom and angst was a bit premature. However, we don’t write these soapers, we just watch them.

Michael’s twisted beginnings

Michael has never had a happy life.  His beginnings were always twisted. First by Carly lying to AJ and telling him that Jason was his father.  Carly had postpartum when Michael was born and she couldn’t even look at  him never mind hold and nurture him. That task fell on Jason and Robin.  Jason fell head over heels in love with Michael. That was some of Steve Burton’s best work on General Hospital.  To this day I can still remember Jason talking to infant Michael in the penthouse looking out into the stars.

Now Michael is talking like he is going to take Sonny down and clean up the Corinthos name. Why doesn’t he just take back his real name?  That is really the question. He is a Quartermaine and that is what he should call himself.  Are we to believe that Wiley is Wiley Corinthos?  Has anybody ever heard that child called that?  Clean it up writers, it is a mess.  This writer is certainly looking forward to Sonny knocking Michael down a few notches.
