Country Radio Seminar 22

Shane has been to CRS before. This is his 4th or 5th time attending. Owens believes in this seminar and he loves being able to spend quality time with DJ’s and Program Directors. He tells us that Music Man is doing well.

He says “Country Radio Seminar is a great opportunity to soak it all in.”

We talked about Broken Spoke, which is some of the first lyrics in his song “Music Man.”  The song is not referring to The Broken Spoke in Nashville but the Broken Spoke in Texas. He says the Broken Spoke in Texas is “one of the most popular places in Texas.” The song Music Man represents anybody that has tried to be a musician for a living.  The song just hits home for so many people. The song was written by two Nashville songwriters and it took him a while to get the Nashville relationships established.

90’s vide

Shane Owens has a real 90’s vibe in his country music. Owens says he was influenced by Keith Whitley, Alan Jackson and all the 90’s music artists. He has played the Opry and he is very excited about what the future holds. Before Covid he was playing about 265 shows a year.  Now that things are opening back up they are  hoping to get back to a more normal tour schedule.  Before the shut down he was scheduled to open for some big name artists. He is hoping to pick up where they left off.

We talk about being kind to one another.  Shane was born in Alabama.  His favorite place in the world to be is hunting and fishing in the woods.  He is a big outdoors man.  We talked about Wild Turkey, not the booze but the actual fowl.  He tells me they are gamey so they have to be prepared right.  He also loves being in the studio.  It is one of his happy places.

Named by Rolling Stone Country as one of the “10 New Country Artists You Need To Know,” and awarded 2018 Music Row Independent Artist of the Year, Shane Owens has been building a strong following for more than a decade. His powerful vocal range combined with the emotional lyrical content of his songs has made him a favorite of fans, critics, and fellow artists alike. After starting his career opening shows for dozens of major stars, the baritone performer attracted the attention of Nashville music executives, and he soon landed a record deal.

However, with all the changes in the music industry at the time, his album was shelved and never released. Just like the ‘Never Give Up’ mantra of his lyrics, Owens picked himself up and moved on, thanks to famed producer James Stroud (Tim McGraw, Aaron Lewis, Clint Black), country music legend Randy Travis, who co-executive produced his first album, Where I’m Comin’ From, and AmeriMonte Records. Never one to sit still for long, Shane Owens is currently impacting at radio with his latest single “Music Man.” For more information, visit www.shaneowenscountrymusic.com
